EMPHASIS IN SOFTWARE ENGINEERING ADMINISTRATION


Program Length

This program offers 39 semester credit hours.

Program Description

The Software Engineering Administration program prepares is designed to prepare students for entry level leadership roles in organizations of diverse domains that develop and maintain software systems for research, commercial, and internal use. The program provides the student with an understanding of fundamental principles and methods of software engineering and presents software development processes at the various degrees of granularity.

Work Places

Work places include businesses in the public and private sectors, including for profit and not for profit organizations. The specific duties of an entry level software engineering administrator-- a person employed to develop and maintain software systems for research, commercial, and internal use-- will often vary from office to office due to office size, location, and specialty.

Professional Preparation

Specific program objectives are designed to provide graduates with knowledge and techniques and tools for working with users and customers to determine needs and analyze requirements for a software application. Graduate will be able to apply good software engineering process to manage a team charged with the design, implementation and testing of a software application. The students will also be able to determine needs, analyze requirements, design, implement, and test a software application within an application.
