EMPHASIS IN IT PROJECT MANAGEMENT


Program Length

This program offers 39 semester credit hours.

Program Description

The program in IT project management is designed to give students practical experience in managing and participating in information system and technology projects. Students will be expected to focus on both the planning and implementation of project plans and also the scheduling, and controlling of a system project during its life cycle. This program will also provide a comprehensive review of essential human resource management concepts and techniques. Students learn standard methods of filing records.

Work Places

Work places include businesses in the public and private sectors. The specific duties as entry level IT Project Manager, a person responsible planning, organizing, securing and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific IT project goals and objectives, will often vary from office to office due to office size, location, and specialty.

Professional Preparation

Specific program objectives are designed to provide graduates with an understanding of standard methods of filing records. The graduate of this program will have gained practical experience in managing and participating in information system and technology projects. Also the graduate will learn concepts and techniques for managing and hiring people, including job analysis, testing, and compensation; appraisal, and grievance processes, with an emphasis on strategic planning.
