COMPUTER-AIDED DESIGN & DRAFTING

EMPHASIS IN ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN & DRAFTING


Program Length

This program offers 39 semester credit hours.

Program Description

The objective of the Architectural Design & Drafting Program is to provide students with fundamental architectural and design skills consistent with the demand for entry level architectural design careers in business and industry.

Work Places

Graduates of this program can expect to attain entry-level positions at architectural offices, government offices and commercial development firms.

Professional Preparation

Students gain hands-on skills in producing drawings and specifications that have been red lined by others; using technical manuals to ensure compliance with required codes and standards; performing dimensional and routine calculations required for the preparation of drawings and design layouts; developing design and product solutions and presents them for consideration; and producing CAD drawings, renderings, layouts and color boards for specific architectural design.
