Dress Code

The University does not have a formal dress code; however, common sense must prevail. A student wearing attire that is disruptive to fellow students will be asked to leave class, resulting in an absence. The student has the option of returning to the class in proper attire, resulting in a late arrival.

Children in the Facility

Tiako University does not provide day-care/baby-sitting facilities. You are not allowed to bring children to class, laboratory, and library or leave them in the break room.

Cell Phones, Food and Beverages

Cell Phones must be turned off or in a silent mode when entering the classroom. It is against school policy to have ringing cell phones or to answer any calls in the classroom. This includes text messaging. All calls must be made or returned during the breaks. Students who violate this policy will be asked to leave class. We do not allow food in the classroom at any time. Only beverages in a spill proof container, such as bottle with the screw top attached or a mug with a tight fitting sipping lid, may be brought in the classroom.

Smoking, Language and Noises

Tiako University is a non-smoking facility. A designated smoking area is provided outside of each campus facilities. Smoking is not permitted outside at any front doors. The use of profanity and vulgarity can result in expulsion from the classroom. Use professional, courteous language while speaking with fellow students, instructors, or administrative staff. The classroom must remain quiet at all times. This includes break times as well. Student must be courteous to those around them by keeping quiet and allowing others to concentrate.

Student Conduct and Drug-Free Environment

Service in community organizations and benevolent groups is encouraged. All students of the University are expected to maintain the highest standards of moral conduct and concern for the well-being and rights of their fellow students. Plagiarism and cheating are considered serious enough offenses to warrant a failing grade for any course in which they have been practiced; repeated offense can result in the student’s suspension or expulsion from the University. Gambling, sexual harassment or harassment of any kind, the use or possession of alcoholic beverages, non-prescription narcotics and drugs, or hallucinogenic drugs, and use or possession of firearms or fireworks are expressly forbidden.

Tiako University is not responsible for any lost or stolen items within the university facilities, parking or recreation areas.
