To foster in the student a sense of responsibility and participation, various groups function on the campus. One of these organizations is the Student Government Association (SGA), a vital force in student life as it functions as liaison between the student body and the faculty and administration. The SGA is composed of a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer who are elected by the student body. Student activities and organizations are an important means for students to develop personally and professionally outside of the classroom. Student activities and organizations are provided to all enrolled students. They are required to be structured as inclusive of all members of the Tiako student community and may not restrict membership or establish membership criteria that discriminate on the basis of race, religion, age, national origin, gender, sexual orientation or handicap. No organizations with restrictive membership clauses will be recognized by the University.
Student Activities Program
The student activities program strengthens student socialization, leadership and collaborative skills and offers encouragement to those who are making a transition to University life. Tiako sponsored activities introduce students to many of the diverse social and cultural events held in the City.
